Drobo has announced a new line of data storage products targeted to small and mid-sized businesses.

The new line of Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, represents Drobo’s first foray into the B2B market. Touted as combining advanced data protection with management capabilities, affordable capacity and ease-of-use, the three new products include:

• An 8-bay file sharing Drobo with remote backup, which is available now.
• An 8-bay SAN Drobo with iSCSI-attached, also available now.
• A 12-bay SAN Drobo with iSCSI attached, shipping Q2 of this year, which can be reserved now.

The new Drobos share performance enhancements, have new management software and extended business support and services. All of the devices feature Drobo’s BeyondRAID patented data protection technology and are certified for VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, and Symantec backup. Drobo cites these new storage systems as optimal for primary and secondary storage for Exchange, Sharepoint, and other similar business applications. They can also be used for company file sharing, offsite backup, and can integrate with VMware virtual server deployments.
