Cisco® (who own the Linksys brand) has announced a new Linux powered router, the WRT160NL. The router provides 802.11b/g/n connectivity and is 802.11n draft 2.0 certified.
The router also has what Cisco are calling “integrated Storage Link functionality” which lets consumers connect their USB storage device to the router to create a powerful media sharing solution that enables video, photo and music sharing through the integrated media server.
The Storage Link feature lets you connect a hard drive or flash-based USB storage device directly to your network to easily add gigabytes of storage. Access your music, video, or data files from anywhere within your network. Built-in DLNA 1.5 compatible media server streams to PCs or UPnP AV digital media adapters. Supported file systems for the connected storage device are FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS.
Enjoy fast wireless connectivity for your home or home office. The Linux-based Wireless-N Broadband Router with Storage Link is designed to deliver plenty of speed and coverage, so multiple users can go online, transfer large files, print, and stream stored media – all at once, all without wires. Great for bigger homes. Easy to use, and easy to install on Windows or Mac.
